The wedding events: 23-24 October 2026

This moment means more to us than we can put into words - and it wouldn’t feel complete without our family and closest friends by our side.  We’ve chosen a place that is special to us, and we can’t wait to share this next chapter with the people we love most.

Itinerary

Friday, 23 October 2026

Smart casual attire (Peter & Tara wearing jeans!)

7-9am - St. Michael’s Manor Breakfast

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast (included for residents, optional for others).

Up to 5pm - Open for Activities

We’ll be sharing a selection of activities by text/email ahead of the weekend for anyone who would like to pre-book (spa, etc.). There are plenty of things to see / do without arrangements as well.

Drinks at The Ivy, where we will also dine. Come over and enjoy a drink or two before we eat. For those staying or joining us at St. Michael’s Manor, we will meet at reception at 4:45pm so that we can walk together. If raining, we will Uber.

Saturday, 24 October 2026

Casual attire

7:30-10am - Breakfast

Breakfast included for residents, optional for others.

Up to 4:30pm - Open for Activities

Enjoy the day at your own pace. There is so much to see and do in St Albans, but London is also only an 18- or 30-minute train ride away depending on the train!  Just make sure you get back on time!!

4:30-5:45pm - St Michael’s Manor - Bar

Drinks before the main event! - Join us for drinks at the hotel bar. We will walk to the pub from St. Michael’s Manor at 5:45pm. It is about a 15-20 minute walk across the beautiful Verulamium Park. Address of the pub is: 16 Abbey Mill Lane, St Albans, AL3 4HE. If it is raining, we will Uber.

6pm-12:30am - Ye Olde Fighting Cocks

The main event! - Join us for an evening of great food, free-flowing drinks, and plenty of music and dancing as we celebrate together.

We’ve taken over the pub for the night - so settle in, relax, and enjoy everything it has to offer. Whether you’re on the dance floor or catching up with old or new friends over drinks, we hope you’ll have as much fun as us!

Please take plenty of pictures and video and send them to us! We can share a link so you can easily upload your videos/photos!

12:30am until ?? - St. Michael’s Manor

Hotel Bar - Even though there can’t be music or cavorting outside on the patio after a certain hour, we convinced the hotel to keep the bar open all night! So, for anyone without plans on Sunday, join us here and continue the celebration! This is for “residents only,” but if you want to join and are not a “resident,” please let us know in advance and we will add you to a room so you are technically resident and can have fun with us!

Frequently Asked Questions

Please text or call either Peter or Tara if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We want to keep things relaxed for all events. Peter will be in blue jeans, while Tara’s version of “jeans” may be a little more… interpretive (if you know her, you know what we mean (a little extra sparkle)). Men may want a jacket or sportcoat and women may want a sweater this time of year as it can get chilly.

Guests are invited to dress however they feel most comfortable - whether that’s casual or something a bit more dressed up.

Please inform us as soon as possible so that we can meet your needs / desires.

Technically, Luton is the closest airport. However, this airport is primarily served by airlines like Easy Jet and Ryan Air etc. for European flights.

Heathrow is relatively close at about a 45-minute Uber ride depending on traffic.

Gatwick can be upwards of 1.5 hours by Uber depending on traffic.

Most places are cashless (Apple Pay etc) and accept cards, but having a small amount of cash on hand can be helpful, particularly for smaller purchases. This is usually not needed though. Dinner (with wines) at The Ivy on Friday and everything at Ye Olde Fighting Cocks on Saturday is on us. The hotel bar takes cards or can be charged to your room.

We have planned for this possibility and all events will be out of the rain. Please check the weather forecast - umbrellas and rain jackets are usually good to have in England!

There are two easy options:

  • Thameslink commuter trains run frequently from St Albans City to stations such as St Pancras International, Farringdon, Blackfriars, and London Bridge (journey time ~20–35 minutes).
  • East Midlands Railway (EMR) express trains run from St Albans City to St Pancras International in as little as ~18 minutes.

We recommend using Apple or Google Maps or the Citymapper app to plan your journey on public transport.

The historic center of St Albans is relatively small and easy to explore on foot, with most locations just a short walk apart.

If needed, taxis and Ubers are easy to find.
Maps/Google Maps are the easiest way to navigate.

We very much hope everyone is feeling well for the celebrations!

If you do feel unwell, we kindly ask that you rest and recover at the hotel or at home and sit this one out. Your health - and the comfort of all our guests - is most important to us. We will gladly share pictures later!

The hotel team will be happy to assist in arranging a doctor or pharmacist if needed.
